Meeting and Lunch

On Sunday, September 9, 2012 there was a CCM Meeting in the

Mission Home with the Area Authority Seventy, Elder Boom

and the four Stake Presidents in the Mission:  President Odens

from the Den Haag Stake, President Hileman from the Apeldoorn Stake, President DeJonge from the Rotterdam Stake and

President Boom from the Antwerpen Stake, along with President Robinson.  Also, Brother Nott was invited to attend with representation of the CES and the Ring Jo-Vo Programs.

They held the meeting from 9:30 am until almost 1:00 pm to discuss concerns and receive instructions and information from the European Area Presidency regarding this Mission.

When I came from Sacrament Meeting and walked into the home, it was filled with the Spirit.  What an amazing group of Priesthood Leaders.

It was a pleasure for President and I to provide the Mission Home for this meeting.  It was my opportunity to prepare lunch for them afterward.  During lunch we talked and laughed, we shared concerns and testimonies. It was indeed a blessing and privilege for me to have them in the Mission Home.  This is a blessing I will have the opportunity of having on many occasions, due to the fact they meet quarterly for this meeting.  How blessed am I--Many more to come.

Utrecht Elders

Friday, September 7, 2012, after finishing up our Special Zone Conference and dropping Elder Kearen off at the airport, we went to Utrecht to spend the rest of the day with Elder Wang and Elder Armstrong.  They had three teaching appointments set with investigators and they were excited to have us come along.

Elder Wang, President Robinson, Elder Armstrong

The first appointment was with a young man who is a student.  We met him at the church for his lesson at noon.

Our second teaching appointment was at the collage campus with a young man from Florida who is living here in the Netherlands and who is also a student.  It was a pleasure to listen and watch as these two Elders did what they are called here to do---testify.  They both gave powerful testimonies of the Book of Mormon and how they each came to that testimony.  They also shared how the Book of Mormon has answered questions and concerns in their lives and brought great happiness.  President and I also had the opportunity to share our testimony of the Book of Mormon.

We left them on Friday afternoon as they headed to the third appointment, we couldn't stay, we had appointments ourselves back at the Mission Home and Office.  Thank you Elders.  It was a great afternoon.

Special Zone Conference

On September 5 and 6, 2012 we had the remarkable experience of having President Kearen, a member of the First Quorum of the Seventy and the 1st Councilor in the European Area Presidency come and tour the mission.  We held Zone Conference on both Wednesday and Thursday.  What a remarkable and unforgettable event it was for us.  He was impressed with the Missionaries and the Mission.  There are wonderful changes that are happening in the mission.  With Elder Kearen's direction and the leadership of President Robinson and the Zone Leaders, we all feel a sense of 'a new page' in the book of the Belgium Netherlands Mission. At a special dinner held on Wednesday Evening with Elder Kearen, the Stake Presidents from three of the four Stakes here in the mission, and Elder Boom, the Area Authority Seventy, we were reminded that President Spencer W. Kimbell promised the people of the Netherlands there would be 40 Stakes in the Netherlands.  We now have 4 Stakes.  We all felt impressed with the truthfulness of this statement.  We have work enough to do.....

Prior to beginning the Rotterdam and Antwerpen Zone Conference, Elder Kearen shook hands with the missionaries.  Due to how Elder Kearen organized the meeting in the Apeldoorn and Den Haag Zone Conference, he shook hands, but there are no pictures.

Here are some pictures of lunchtime during the conference. Lunchtime gives the Elders and Sisters time to get caught up on all the news of the mission.  Enjoy!
